Morning update

Good morning, Middle East Eye readers,

Here are the latest updates from the Israeli war on Gaza, now in its 718th day:

  • Australia's public broadcaster was ordered Wednesday to pay a hefty penalty to a radio journalist dismissed for reposting to Instagram a Human Rights Watch video report on Gaza.

  • Organisers of a Gaza-bound Sumud flotilla carrying aid and pro-Palestinian activists said late Tuesday they heard explosions and saw multiple drones that targeted some of their boats, currently situated off Greece.

  • G7 Foreign ministers issued a joint statement Tuesday calling for a ceasefire in Gaza, as they met in New York on the sidelines of the United Nations General Assembly.

  • Israeli forces have killed at least 29 Palestinians in air strikes on the Gaza Strip since the early hours of this morning, Al Jazeera Arabic reported, citing medical sources.
