Trump to push Gaza plan in meeting with Arab and Muslim states

US President Donald Trump is preparing to host a high-level meeting with Saudi Arabia, the UAE, Qatar, Egypt, Jordan, Turkey, Indonesia and Pakistan, the White House has confirmed.

Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt said the talks will bring together key Arab and Muslim nations, though she offered no details on the agenda.

Citing a source familiar with the plans, US outlet Axios reported that Trump intends to present the group with a proposal on Gaza’s post-war future. The plan reportedly centres on ending the war, freeing captives, and setting up a governance structure that excludes Hamas.

According to Axios, Washington wants Arab and Muslim states to commit troops to Gaza to facilitate an Israeli withdrawal and to help fund reconstruction and transitional programmes.
