Director of al-Shifa hospital says patients will be treated despite Israeli assaults

Dr Muhammad Abu Salmiya, director of al-Shifa hospital, stressed that medical staff will continue their “humanitarian mission” despite intense pressure from ongoing Israeli bombardment.

On Saturday, the senior doctor lost several family members in an Israeli air strike on his brother's home, which killed at least five people. 

"Their message continues: we serve patients and the injured to the best of our abilities," he told Al Jazeera
