Trump approves proposal for replacing Hamas in Gaza, Israeli media reports

Former UK Prime Minister Tony Blair's proposal to establish a governing body in Gaza has been approved by US President Donald Trump, Times of Israel reported on Thursday. 

As per the report, Trump has asked Blair to rally regional and international stakeholders around the proposal regarding the body that will replace Hamas in Gaza.

Israel’s finance minister on Wednesday had said the Gaza Strip is “a real estate bonanza” and Israel has shared a plan with the US on how to divide it up. 

Speaking at a real estate conference in Tel Aviv on Wednesday, Bezalel Smotrich said that Israel had carried out “the first phase of urban renewal” by demolishing Gaza, and it was now working on a plan to start rebuilding it, saying the plans were now “on President Trump’s desk”.
