Israeli strike destroys Gaza City residential tower
Israeli air strikes demolished the Al-Sousi residential tower in Tal al-Hawa, southwest of Gaza City, less than an hour after Israeli forces ordered residents to evacuate.
The attack occurred opposite the Unrwa headquarters.
The Israeli army said it targeted the tower because it allegedly contained intelligence equipment and observation points used to monitor troop movements. Israel has regularly claimed that it targets military objectives within civilian infrastructure, but it rarely provides evidence, and its claims are often disproven.
Gaza’s Government Information Office dismissed the Israeli claims, saying the towers are under surveillance and only civilians are permitted inside. The office said allegations of militant activity are part of a “deception policy” aimed at forcibly displacing residents.
